Telling the story …

Heroes like Seth Godin and Brené Brown advise to open up to vulnerability, connect and tell our stories.

Feeling a bit like a hedgehog upended, I wonder how I can start telling this story, my story? To open up my heart and dreams with you without a neat ending? What will happen? How will it feel if nothing happens?

So here goes… I’m going to share the news of the last 6 months. Work is bubbling. Check in for changes, struggles, moving on and knuckling down. Short and sweet about once a week.

Berliners told me it’s a highlight of the year so I stayed for Transmediale ‘the post-digital culture event’ held annually at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt.

The programme was not compatible with my simple 8-bit brain. Even the veterans I petitioned for guidance admitted to information overload, apt considering this year’s theme of anxiety. My final strategy was to neglect most lectures and prioritise hanging out, absorbing installations and workshopping. One month, 13 students, countless visiting artists and a huge array of creative coding. I was delighted to take the opportunity this July to take part in ‘Responsive Spaces’. The culmination was an interactive installation group show in a warehouse space in Urban Spree, Friedrichstein. Many thanks to Rachel Uwa, the brains behind the genius.
