A vision coming to life

This Spring, I moved my home and studio from the city to countryside. The confidence to act quickly came in a surprising way.
Last year I worked with creative coach Clare Mulvany who guided me into a visualisation that revealed an ideal workspace. Here I saw daylight dripping from a vaulted ceiling, plants, people from various sectors collaborating and teenagers coding in the mezzanine. I drew it on a large sheet of brown paper and fleshed it out on Pinterest afterwards. Summer and Autumn came and went.
Skibbereen hosted National Digital Week in November and I checked out the former cinema under renovation. “This is the Pinterest board!”… the Ludgate Digital Hub.
I loved the area for mini-hols, but moving to West Cork was not something I had seriously considered. Circumstances conspired to push me and so I arrived on a wet dreary day in March, before the hub was even open. It was a drag but I had faith. Now I’m based in Ireland’s first “GigaTown” with 1GB internet connectivity. The Hub is a supportive workspace in different ways… the drawing below is now taking shape.
A pretty stark realisation of your visualisation!
